In company with the Registrar General I visited the place where the alleged seizure of opium took place, and gleaned the following information from the Master of the Shun Kat who accompanied us.
The Shun Kat cleared at the Harbour Office for Lyeung Shui, i.e., Chinese territory, on the north side of this Harbour, on the 30th ultimo for the purpose of cleansing the boat's bottom, having previous to leaving taken on board 61 balls of Opium. This opium was not...
